Adjustment Disorders

Most mental and medical disorders can be accompanied by an adjustment disorder. They are only diagnosed in addition to another diagnosis if the original did not explain the behaviors or symptoms as the result of a stressor. An adjustment that typically causes this diagnosis could be for an individual losing a job, that already has diagnosed Obsessive Compulsive Disorder.
