Anxiety Disorders

We all experience feelings of anxiety, nervousness, stress, and fear. In our day to day lives, we deal with life events and changes that are not always calming and stress-free. However, prolonged feelings of excessive fear, anxiety, and related behavioral disturbances can indicate an Anxiety Disorder.

Generalized Anxiety Disorder (GAD)

GAD can encompass fear and anxiety regarding many different life events, most commonly being work and school performance. Symptoms that are common in individuals with GAD include irritability, difficulty concentrating, and trouble with sleeping.

Panic Disorder

Individuals that have a panic disorder suffer from random but frequent panic attacks, causing constant worry regarding when a panic attack may occur. Panic attacks are abrupt moments of intense fear and anxiety that cause destructive physical and mental symptoms.

Separation Anxiety Disorder

Individuals with Separation Anxiety Disorder (SAD) enhanced feelings of fear and anxiety when not physically with a person that they are emotionally attached to. This fear is consistent for at least 4 weeks in children and adolescents, and 6 months or more in adults.
