Consulting

Candy Beers, Ph.D.

Dr. Beers specializes in supporting parent-child interactions, specifically within the contexts of postpartum mental health and attachment, pediatric sleep, neurodiversity, gender socialization and development, sexual health development and racial identity development. She is also passionate about sexual assault prevention and works with adults of all ages to develop sexual agency and autonomy.

Both her research and clinical work are guided by her interest in shame and social conformity. In an age, where we are all inundated with information about how we are supposed to navigate and experience life, she focuses on facilitating the process of reconnection to oneself, helping to silence the noise of all the “shoulds.” Guided by current research in human development and family science, along with her background as a dance/movement psychotherapist, Dr. Beers meets her clients as whole people, allowing space to co-create a path and plan that aligns with how they want to experience the next

chapter of their lives.

She is LGBTQ+, ENM and neurodiversity affirming.

Virtual Assistant

Ellie Schultz, Virtual Assistant

Ellie first joined us as an intern for her final semester at VT where she recently graduated with dual degrees in Psychology & Human Development. She was accepted into the Clinical Mental Health Counseling Program at Boston College with plans of becoming an LPC. We're very fortunate to have Ellie sticking with us to provide virtual support to our counselors & clients. Her role is continually developing (because she's great at everything we've given her!).. you'll currently find Ellie managing our website, all sorts of behind the scenes details, and, perhaps most importantly, she is helping us increase follow-up time with new client inquiries. We know seeking counseling can be a vulnerable moment & it's hard to wait to hear back after you've reached out. Ellie is working closely with our clinical team to identify good options for interested clients (both within our practice & in the broader community) to ensure our responses are timely & helpful.
