Depressive Disorders

Experiencing depression is much more common than people think. In many cases, depression has a root biological or genetic cause that can be enhanced by the occurrence of a traumatic event. The common symptoms of all Depressive Disorders include prolonged feelings of sadness, emptiness, or irritability that coincide with significant somatic and cognitive changes in an individual's life that impact their ability to function in their day-to-day lives.


Bipolar Disorder

An episodic disorder in which individuals experience intense mood swings of manic highs and depressive lows. Symptoms include mood swings, anger, euphoria, guilt, hopelessness, anxiety, exponentially increased mood, and irritability.


Major Depressive Disorder

Symptoms include feeling depressed for most of the day almost every day, almost no interested or pleasure in daily activities, significant weight gain or loss, insomnia or hyper-insomnia,  excessive feelings of worthlessness or guilt, and recurrent thoughts of death or suicidal ideation.
