My approach as a counselor

I believe that you are the expert in your own life, and my role is to collaborate with you to find the path forward that best fits your needs. Drawing from my background in psychology and disability studies, I combine person-centered, cognitive-behavioral, solution-focused, and strength-based approaches to support your journey.

As someone who grew up in Southwest Virginia, I understand the unique challenges our community faces, particularly when it comes to accessing mental health support. I'm especially passionate about supporting parents through the complex challenges of raising children, having studied child development and recognizing the gap in mental health resources for parents in our area.

Outside of counseling

I love trying new things, especially with food, I will eat just about anything. While I’m not the best cook, I enjoy trying new recipes whenever I can. Lately, I’ve been diving into my long list of book recommendations given by family and friends, but the variety has been nice! To recharge, I hang out with my two kitties. I have a black cat named Keke, and a Siamese cat named Appa. They have very different personalities, but they're equally a handful!
